Like many women around the world, I cannot wait!!! Sex and the City 2
I don’t know if I’m more excited for the dresses, the shoes or the men! Sex and the City has quickly become a phenomenon over the last few years but did anyone actually watch it back in 1998 when it was first on TV, I mean when it was on actual TV, before Paramount Comedy got hold of all the repeats. I certainly know that I didn’t… although that could be because I still thought that a boy liked me if he was mean to me in the playground! Anyway, it still seems to me that this show has become more popular in the last few years then it ever was in the late 90s.
Is this because the story lines have got juicier? Or their acting capability has got better? Perhaps the male leads have just got hotter? Or could it be due to the increase in the ‘celebrity’? Everywhere you go, you hear about the hot new actress or model in her Louboutin’s and it makes me think about where it all began? When did names like Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik become something that the average woman knows about? I certainly know that my Mum didn’t know who were the hot designers in New York when she was my age.
It makes me wonder about what future generations of women will get excited about, will it all be about designer space suits and long distance relationships between planets in 100 years time? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…..
Either way, I’m still a Carrie: “Looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.”
